In SE Minnesota, we see this way too often. Crop farmers will mow (as a lawn, not for hay crop) the ditch 1/2 mile or more along area roads. They don't care for,
or respect plants and animals, unless it involves putting more money in their pockets. Wastes gasoline, pollutes air, hurts wildlife, threatens plant diversity, contributes to global warming...so many reasons to leave the ditches alone.
