Via Facebook, we've learned of a panel at the Montevideo Community Center, 550 S 1st St, Montevideo, on April4 at 6p.m.
Participating in interfaith dialogue is not only a great way to grow in relationship with the members of your community, but it also deepens your own faith. In response to the anti-Islam speaker coming on April 5th, we would like to lift up the importance of interfaith relationships and show the vitality of interfaith dialogue.
You are invited to join us at the Montevideo Community Center where an interfaith panel will explore the different expressions of faith present in your community and model respectful conversations around different theology. Come and be a part of learning about your neighbors in a respectful and loving manner.
The panel will include: Dr. Ayaz Virji, Rev. Mandy France, Dr. Andrew Fenk, Massoud Kazemzadeh, and Rev. Jeff Fitzkappes
Dr. Virji gained national attention with the publication of ‘Love Thy Neighbor?’ in the Washington Post in July, 2017.
Bluestem Prairie reported on the anti-Muslim speaker coming to Montevideo back in February's Division lines pockets: Anti-interfaith speaker coming to Montevideo, Duluth, Bloomington. We encourage readers in the area to attend the April 4th event, rather than protesting the anti-Muslim speaker. Don't feed the trolls.
