The Minnesota 7th Congressional District Republican Party has never been one for subtlety, and the visual rhetoric in a post shared early Monday morning continues this tradition. In the image, a cherry-colored tsunami curls over the fleshpots and skyscrapers of downtown Minneapolis, as well as a swath of the interstate system.
And here we thought that Republicans loved roads even more than they disparaged the Evil Metro.
We shared the red tide on our personal Facebook page and friends replied. A young veteran:
This is very aggressive. #triggered 🤣🤣🤣
An artistic friend:
This offends me as a graphic designer.
A downtown dweller:
We all want 35w construction to be over, but come on..
A military historian:
WHAT DID THEY DO TO THE KOOL-AID MAN?
Still, the vision of Minneapolis slammed by a giant wave fits right in with such CD7 GOP classics from the last three years as:

The rebuked post famously called Congressman Ellison a "Head Muslim Goat Humper." Civility and its discontents are nothing new.
