Earlier this week, Star Tribune owner Glen Taylor closed his pork processing plant Comfrey Farm pork plant in Windom . . .for 2 days because of coronavirus.
At the Star Tribune, staff members have been furloughed on what we understand is a rolling basis. Ad revenues are down.
An entertaining consequence appeared in the paper on Friday.
We admired Jennifer Bjorhus's story Standoff at Capitol could block Minnesota environmental spending when we read it online. It was a clear delineation of hijinks surrounding the appropriation for the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF). We'd been posting about the issue and found that Bjorhus nailed it.
That version was illustrated with a lovely Glenn Stubbe photo of the Minnesota State Capitol and a portrait of Minnesota House Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division Chair Rick Hansen, DFL-S. St Paul.
But readers of the print version saw something else.
Minnesota's finest cat lady and reproductive rights activist Stacey Burns pointed out on Twitter:
This is what happens when you furlough half the newsroom.

The handsome fellow on the right isn't Douglas County's Bill Ingebrigsten, a Republican. Nope: it's Minneapolis Senator Scott Dibble.
Stacey is the best--and Lindeke's pretty good too.
UPDATE, April 25, 2020: Via Twitter, Senator Dibble has responded to the photo:
It’s fine. We’re referring to Bill as Metro Bill Ingebrigtsen now. 😂
