In the Brainerd Dispatch story, Local lawmakers discuss upcoming negotiations over bonding, LCCMR, Gabriel D. Lagarde reports:
Lueck and Poston were joined by their fellow local lawmakers in Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-Nisswa, as well as state Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, as well as state Rep. Josh Heintzeman, R-Nisswa.
Heintzeman repeatedly declined to comment other than by email, citing a discomfort with face-to-face or phone interviews and expressed sensitivity with how prior statements were presented in the Dispatch.
Similar language appeared in Lagarde's May 23, 2020 article, Local Republicans criticize Walz, urge speedy reopening for businesses:

In an email, Heintzeman stated he wasn’t sure if Walz’s push would pan out, but acknowledged practical changes or advancements in technology could be a boon for environmental concerns.
Heintzeman has repeatedly declined to comment other than by email, citing a discomfort with face-to-face or phone interviews.
In last summer's Setting the record straight: Nystrom explains statewide insulin debate, there's this:
Two other local politicians Nystrom said she had spoken with at various times and listed by name -- state Rep. Josh Heintzeman and state Sen. Carrie Ruud -- did not respond for requests by deadline. Ruud did not answer repeated phone calls. Heintzeman, who has expressed aversion to conducting face-to-face or phone interviews, did not return requests via email.
Searching the Brainerd Dispatch archives of articles marked with the tag "Josh Heintzeman" reveals 254 results; the last time a face-to-face or phone interviews--as opposed to an email or news release--appears in an article from that search is the January 21, 2019 article, After 3 years in the state Legislature, will 'Macy's Law' become a reality?.
It's not clear whether this article--or another not tagged by the paper--caused Heintzeman to be such a fragile violet.
