Monday's Minnesota Reformer published our article, GOP candidate tied to notorious Dorr family taking on Rep. Paul Torkelson.
Go read the article about Redwood Falls conservative activist Tammy Houle at the online news site.
Houle's bid was thwarted on the first ballot, according to a tweet by Josh Anderson:
Paul Torkelson endorsed in HD 16B with 77% on the first ballot. Chris Swedzinsk Endorsed for HD 16A unanimously.

Minnesota House Republican Caucus Director of Public Affairs Andrew Wagner tweeted:
Rep. @Paul_Torkelson with a dominant first ballot endorsement victory in 16B. 💪🏼 #mnleg

No word if Houle has decided to abide by the endorsement. For the Minnesota Reformer she told this reporter:
If she doesn’t win the endorsement, Houle told the Minnesota Reformer, “I am reserving the right to go on to the primary.”
Should Houle abide, there's still a possibility of a tri-partisan race in November. The New Ulm Journal reported last week in Lucan couple seeks legislative seats:
A rural Lucan couple that operate a family hobby farm are seeking legislative seats held by veteran Republicans – Sen. Gary Dahms, Redwood Falls; and Rep. Paul Torkelson, Hanska.
Wisconsin native and Independence Alliance Party member Joshua Prine, who owns an information technology business, plans to oppose Dahms this fall in District 16.
His fiance, Jessica Thomson [sic], a Holland, Mn (near Pipestone) native, said she just got the Veteran’s Party endorsement, although she isn’t a military veteran.
The Facebook page for the Minnesota Veteran's Party proclaimed the endorsement in a post on Monday evening--following the Republican endorsing convention:
As for the Veterans Party of Minnesota's take on the world, scroll through the Facebook page.
While Torkelson appears secure, nothing is normal these days. We're not sure what's in the water in that part of the state--but Tork may have had a hand in it.
In 2016 Torkelson dismissed concerns about nitrates in Minnesota's drinking water. This year, he had Buyer's remorse? Torkelson fretting about well testing mandates, ethanol mandates not so much.
Could be.
