State representative (an assistant Minority Leader) Josh Heintzeman, R-Nisswa, likes to characterize himself as a watchdog of state funds and morals, but his attention during Wednesday's Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources meeting seemed a bit less focused.
During the discussion of proposal 2021-022, the Camp Ripley Sentinel Landscape Forest Restoration And Enhancements, for which the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District has requested $975,000, Heintzeman appears on the Zoom screen wearing a Trump 2020 cap.
That's the Keep America Great Baseball Cap Donald Trump Hat 2020 now on sale for $15.99 at the Trump Mall:
Campaigning via a state committee? Classy. Isn't there a rule about such things.
Heintzeman is largely quiet during the meeting, where millions of dollars of Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund dollars are up for consideration, though he puts in another star performance.
After the break, when funding for two bike trails (2021-012 and 2021-028) are up, Heintzeman appears after the presentation of the latter, wearing a bike helmet. We tweeted at the time:

He talks about biking as small children circle around on the pavement behind him, praising bike trails in his area.
Those watching the discussion of 2021-028, the Mesabi Trail Csah 88 To Ely learned that the project would cost $1 million per mile, twice as much per mile as a similar project, Minneapolis DFL state representative Jean Wagenius pointed out. We tweeted, just before Heintzeman's appearance:
Holy cats. The Mesabi Trail costs $1million per mile and these Ranger cats bitch about #LCCMR projects in the evil Metro? Tomassoni called it a jewel. Sounds paved with gold #mnleg
