Earlier this month, in the post Dahms: Status quo in divided MN legislature will legalize pot within 1st six weeks of next session, we reported on anti-cannabis reform rhetoric clouding a room in New Ulm.
A reader brought Sensible Change Minnesota's Cannabis Policy Voter Guide for the state senate to our attention, thinking we'd find joy in former Douglas County sheriff and current state senator Bill Ingebrigsten's answers.
They did not disappoint, especially this Q & A:
Do you believe Minnesota should dedicate funding to law enforcement, specifically for designing objective impairment tests that are accurate and science-based?
No. Good grief!!! Will this be the new funding source for LE after the progressive democrats de-fund the police??
Alrightee, then. As MinnPost's Walker Orenstein reported back in July, Nobody at the Legislature has proposed defunding the police. So why is it such a big deal at the Capitol?
He answers the question in the article, so hop over to MinnPost to learn what Sheriff Bill is smoking.
Here's the page for Senate District 8 with Ingebrigsten's answers; his DFL opponent, Michele Anderson, did not answer the questionnaire as of the drafting of this post.
