Lately, Minnesota House Republicans have been carrying on about science, claiming they has it. One sterling example appeared Wednesday in Stephen Montemayor's article in the Star Tribune, Anti-Asian hate crimes heighten calls for new legislation in Minnesota, Congress:
Gender identity issue
Other Republican state lawmakers have cited the House bill's protections for gender identity in their objections.
"I believe in science. I believe if you have an XY chromosome you're a male, if you have a YY chromosome you're a female," said State Rep. Eric Lucero, R-Dayton. "And the language here is going to put Minnesotans in the awkward position of being science deniers and having to choose science over somebody's confusion."
Lucero unsuccessfully tried to add an amendment making officers immune from claims that they did not properly investigate bias crimes based on gender identity.
Funny, that's not what we learned about female chromosomes, which are XX. Perhaps Lucero is confused.
Minneapolis resident and reproductive rights activist Stacey Burns put it best on twitter:
Who among us hasn’t, in the service of punishing and humiliating adolescent kids for their very existence, made a simple error that unmasks our utter ignorance? https://t.co/T9j2J9jgI2

The image at the top is from a mail piece the political non-profit, but not a registered political committee or a political fund, sent out in his district.
