Between running errands, harvesting garden vegetables, and processing them, today we read dozens of news articles about the legacy of the September 11, 2001 attacks as well as friends' remembrances of what they were were doing when the planes hit. Some wrote of the friends and colleagues they had lost.
If some worry that America and the world have forgotten September 11, 2001, we come away on this Patriot Day knowing that's not the case.
For us, the most moving article was Jennifer Senior's What Bobby McIlvaine Left Behind: Grief, conspiracy theories, and one family’s search for meaning in the two decades since 9/11, published in the September 2021 issue of The Atlantic. A thoughtful friend sent us the link.
It's a powerful piece of non-fictional. Go read the online version.
We'll have posts tomorrow about South Dakota governor Noem's latest backflip, Minnesota politics, and our usual schtick.
