We've been covering the North Mankato lawn wars for some time, beginning with 2019's Buzz kill: North Mankato Planning Commission not so much into lawns to legumes. In December 2020, we posted North Mankato declares “Monarch Wayfair” lawn a public nuisance from “infestation of the premises by plants, animals, and birds.”
Things escalated from there (see list of related posts below), with the case working its way in court as we noted in Mankato Free Press: Borchardts' North Mankato lawn war case heard in Minnesota appeals court.
This morning, the Minnesota Appeals Court released its opinion, reversing the city resolution against the natural lawn keepers.
Here's the opinion:

Meanwhile, we're wondering whether the City of North Mankato has attended to its own buckthorn problem we last posted about on August 23 in North Mankato lawn wars: resident maps buckthorn in Bluff Park, citizens badger council.
Bluestem UPDATE 10/4/2021. Here's the Mankato Free Press's coverage of the story: UPDATED: Court overturns North Mankato's nuisance declaration [end Bluestem update]
