About three weeks ago, Bluestem reported Placeholder: Incumbent Democrat Keintz quietly withdrew from SD District 1 House race.
We were sad to see her go, but apparently the Edenic real estate broker's willingness to serve the people of South Dakota remains.
Here's his tweet about the choice:
I am thrilled to announce that I have selected my pick for Lieutenant Governor: Representative Jennifer Keintz

At the Argus Leader, Joe Sneve has more in Jamie Smith taps Aberdeen-area lawmaker as running mate on Democratic ticket for governor:
Jamie Smith has tapped an Aberdeen-area lawmaker as his running mate in his bid for the South Dakota governor's office.
The Sioux Falls Democrat challenging Gov. Kristi Noem in this year's gubernatorial election Thursday formally announced that he's backing Rep. Jennifer Keintz, 48, a real estate broker and business owner from Eden, for the Democratic Party's lieutenant governor candidate on the November ballot.
"Jennifer is an outstanding leader in our state and will serve all of South Dakota with the same compassion and drive she has shown in her community," Smith said. "Jennifer’s family roots are in agriculture. She and her husband Corey both come from families who have farmed for generations."
"As Lieutenant Governor, Jennifer’s expertise will be vital as we advocate for the preservation and growth of rural South Dakota," Smith said.
Keintz said in a statement that she's eager to join Smith on the ballot in November, should party delegates affirm her candidacy at the South Dakota Democratic Party Convention Saturday in Fort Pierre.
“I came to know Jamie as colleagues in the legislature, and have always been impressed with his common sense leadership and vision for the future of South Dakota. I am excited to be a part of the team that puts South Dakotans first," she said. "It’s time to bring the focus back to the needs of all South Dakotans, and we are ready to deliver for them on day one.” . . .
My partner and I have been to Eden--just this weekend, as a matter of fact, on the way to taking two friends from Duluth to Fort Sisseton--and that's one emblematic small farming town.
Read what the Noem campaign grumped out about Keintz at the Argus Leader. Sometimes our governor just can't find her positive pants.
