Update 8/31: On Tuesday, August 30 the referee ruled in Westrom's favor, we reported in Referee's Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law: Torrey Westrom stays on MN12 ballot.[end update]
Late yesterday afternoon, Swift County resident Victoria Guillemard's lawyer, Brian Wojtalewicz, filed a motion to intervene in A22-1112; the motion brought her petition to remove Torrey Westrom from the ballot in the race for Minnesota Senate District 12 into the case docket.
Bluestem last posted about this kerfuffle in MinnPost: if Klingbeil's petition on Westrom's residency prevails, still chance for GOP on ballot.
Guillemard--who last graced these pages in her efforts to shine light on AFA pagans establishing a foothold in sunny Murdock--sent out a statement about the motion to area media:
Having recently graduated from law school, I am keenly aware of the importance of enforcing our Minnesota Constitution and election laws. Fair elections are the foundation of democracy, and Minnesotans deserve to have candidates that reside in their voting district and represent their interests and concerns. The facts I am aware of right now make me strongly believe that Mr. Westrom is not a true resident of our District 12. Please see the filings in court so far.

A story of service
In a phone interview yesterday, Wojtalewicz confirmed a rumor that Senator Westrom had been served notice of the intervention on Wednesday at FransonFest, a fundraiser held at a local country club.
We'd tweeted about the then-confirmed story:
A source tells me these cute cookies weren't the only thing served at the #FransonFest fundraiser yesterday. Need to confirm #mnleg pic.twitter.com/ypxaiGizN1

All of our sources about the details of that engagement of the host, the person serving the papers, and Senator Westrom are thirdhand. We do believe that we can assert that there was likely an audience for the execution of the legal process.
