Back on August 20, Bluestem reported Scott Jensen to speak--again--at "vaccine awareness" Global Health Freedom Summit, along with the "The Usual Gang of Idiots," anti-vax world division.
Now Adam Uren reports in Bring Me The News that Jensen isn't attending, since he's got a family wedding scheduled that weekend. In Scott Jensen listed among speakers at event featuring anti-vaxxers, we learn through this update:
Update: Scott Jensen's campaign spokesman says that Jensen will not be speaking at the Oct. 1 event, despite being listed as a guest speaker, as he has a family wedding to attend that day. This story has been update to reflect this. Bring Me The News has reached out for further details.
Dr. Scott Jensen, the Republican candidate for Minnesota governor, is listed among the guest speakers at an event in Alexandria that features a number of prominent anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists.
Jensen is listed as a speaker at the 2022 Global Health Freedom Summit, which says it can help attendees "legally protect yourself from forced vaccinations, mask mandates, and other forms of medical tyranny."
However, Jensen's campaign has told Bring Me The News that Jensen will actually not be speaking at the event as he has a family wedding the same day.
When asked if he'll be requesting his name be removed from the event listing given he will not be attending, his spokesman said: "As you can imagine, we don't have any connection to their promotional side. So, I don't know what their plan is. You'd have to talk with them directly."
We're curious when that wedding was scheduled, since the information on the Global Health Freedom Summit has been around at least ten days (August 2) before Deena Winter's September 1 report, Jensen to appear with all-star lineup of anti-vaxxers at Alexandria event.
Perhaps Scott needs new schedulers. It's not the first time Jensen's name has appeared on a bill off fare that he said he has nothing to do with. And it the past, he claimed he'd asked to have his name removed from the bill of fare.
There's this 2021 episode:
Good catch, Michael. I asked that my name be removed because these organizers included it in error. I won’t be speaking at this conference and have not consented to my name being used.

I’d ask you to correct, but realize your agenda may not allow you to. https://t.co/G567RgeZJW
But Jensen's participation in the 2021 ‘ReAwaken America’ tour had been reported over a month before by the Guardian, as one Tweep replied:
The guardian in the UK reported on this a month ago. I really don’t think you are just catching wind of this. https://t.co/ELFE3Hu095

The Guardian reported in the September 3rd article Trump loyalists team up with anti-vax doctors for ‘health and freedom’ tour:
Another doctor listed as a speaker at the rallies is Scott Jensen, a former state senator and Fox News favorite who is running for governor in Minnesota. Last year, Jensen was a candidate for Politifact’s “lie of the year” for claiming baselessly that doctors were overcounting Covid cases for their own financial gain.
Via Nancy Levine's tweet stream, we learned that Jensen had appeared on the schedule for the tour at a different place and date, when the tour was originally called "Reopen America Tour."

We don't know how the Reopen America/Reawaken America Tour ever happened to use his image in their graphics. Shame on them!
And we're glad to know that Jensen now respects a family occasion like a wedding, when back in June 2021, he stiffed his own anniversary to spend misinformation about COVID in Tampa.
He does need a new scheduler. Perhaps it's a fundraising thing.
