I'd listened to the spicy Attorney General candidate debate on Minnesota Public Radio on Friday.
I was not impressed by the junior high guy aggressiveness of Schultz, who reminds me of nothing so much as a bright Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) student with more bravado than background or research.
The Associated Press's Steve Karnowski does a good job reporting the main points in Republican attacks Minnesota AG over crime in 1st debate. I'm glad he clarified this point, since Schultz wasn't about to let Ellison get a word in edgewise:
MISTAKE OF THE DAY
Schultz asked Ellison whether he knew the name of the special agent in charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, which is overseeing the investigation. He didn’t give Ellison a chance to answer before naming the agent as Joseph Thompson. Schultz suggested that Ellison had failed the test and was “missing in action.” But Schultz failed his own test. Thompson is not the head of the FBI office; he’s a federal prosecutor on the case. The local special agent in charge is Michael Paul.
The Ellison campaign and the Minnesota DFL soon jumped on that one on twitter. Here's the party:
This is embarrassing. @JimForMN doesn't know Minnesota's key partners in federal law enforcement.

This is no surprise though. Jim Schultz has never set foot in a courtroom, and he just doesn’t have the knowledge, experience, and relationships to be Attorney General. pic.twitter.com/1oDcFHAYFo

It's a good thing there won't be more debates since Schultz might not have the stamina to survive his own rhetorical ambushes.
Missed the debate? Here's Minnesota Pubic Radio's YouTube:
