Back on December 19, Bluestem posted in Is election denier Logan Manhart working in South Dakota Secretary of State elections office?:
At Dakota War College on Monday, we read in Update on the staff changes in the Secretary of State’s office:
. . . Another hire might just be a shift of positions (checking on that), but I’m told the most recognizable hire in the elections office is Logan Manhart, who had been a candidate for District 1 State House this past election. You’ll probably recognize the name as he had withdrew when it was determined that he had not been a resident of the state for two years.
Well jeepers. That's certainly something to learn on the day when the Associated Press reported Jan. 6 panel urges Trump prosecution with criminal referral.
The image at the top of this page is taken from Manhart's January 1, 2022 tweet, that's the young man from the Aberdeen area at Trump's January 6 Election Denial rally.
We first posted about Manhart's january 6 involvement in our post, In SD District One, GOP candidate & operative doesn't want to talk to press about January 6.
Several readers brought an article to our attention on Wednesday, published in the Dakota Scout:
Manhart last year found himself at the center of controversy after filing as a candidate in the District 1 House race despite not having been a legal resident of South Dakota for at least two years. https://t.co/AXPn0JbZZJ

Nice, non-denier picture there at the Scout. We direct readers to thr Dakota Free Press, which first broke the story of Manhart's residency disqualification as a candidate for the South Dakota legislature.
In SOS Monae Johnson Hires Election Denier, Election-Law Violator, Cory Allan Heidleberger observes:
. . . It’s even worse that Johnson hires Logan Manhart, an extremist twenty-something election denier with no experience working in government and who just last year violated the very election laws that his boss is supposed to oversee:
Brown County Republican Logan Manhart announced via social media Tuesday that he’s taken a position within the office of Secretary of State Monae Johnson, who rode election integrity stump speeches to an upset of fellow GOP member Steve Barnett at last year’s state convention.
“A year ago, I decided I wanted to serve in Pierre,” read a post on a social media account registered to Manhart on Tuesday morning. “Though perhaps not in the capacity I originally intended, I am excited to start my new job in the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office” [Joe Sneve, “Republican Who Violated Residency Rule Tapped to Work in Secretary of State’s Office,” Dakota Scout, 2023.01.04].
Sneve notes that Secretary Johnson has for weeks ignored his requests for information about whom she’s hiring, which suggests Johnson is either trying to keep her bad choices secret or just doesn’t care about open government. . . .
Golly. Next thing I know, I'll be reading headlines like Mothers Against Drunk Driving ‘outraged’ over Noem pardon at Dakota News Now or Recording shows incoming DSS Sec. threatens job over sexual harassment claims.
Clean water, clean air and freedom in the Rushmore State (including for guys like this one).
