Bluestem's been posting about the growing tendency of Greater Minnesota Republican party units (BPOUs) to host extreme speakers.
On August 22, we noted in Chapter 2: MN Republican BPOU party units normalizing extremists, conspiracy theories:
Republican Senate Districts 13 and 14 are also hosting anti-Agenda-21 conspiracy theorist Tom DeWeese in September, as the poster seen on the Rocks and Cows of Minnesota Facebook page illustrates. DeWeese turned up near the bottom of Bluestem's 2012 post, Missing in Minnpost: Are Quistian soldiers training at Tea Party Agenda 21 bootcamps yet?, and Agenda 21 fearmonging and Deweese appeared the same year in Scary MN: Do GreenStep Cities mean Pawlenty was totally a United Nations secret operative?
Bircher DeWeese has his own page at the conspiracy theory aggregator Save Your Cities. . . .
The event in St. Augusta won't be DeWeese's only Republican Party speaking engagement in the region in September. On the Kandiyohi County Republicans Facebook page, this invitation was published on August 24 at 6:00 PM:
INTERNATIONAL ACTIVIST PLANS SPICER STOP!
Tom DeWeese is one of the nation’s leading advocates of individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education and American sovereignty and independence.
A native of Ohio, he’s been a candidate for the Ohio Legislature, served as editor of two newspapers, and has owned several businesses since the age of 23. In 1989 Tom led the only privately-funded election-observation team to the Panamanian elections in which voter fraud on a massive scale determined the outcome in favor of dictator Manuel Noriega. In 2006 Tom was invited to Cambridge University to debate the issue of the United Nations before the Cambridge Union, a 200 year old debating society.Tom DeWeese has traveled to nearly every state speaking out on the threat of UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development Policy. To fight these policies, he coined the term Freedom Pods and now helps to recruit and train local activists to effectively organize in their own communities. He has testified before local and state elected officials, while appearing on countless national and local radio and television programs. He has written three books on the subject including the best-selling book Sustainable: The WAR on Free Enterprise, Private Property and Individuals, ERASE, a fictionalized political thriller, and his first book, titled Now Tell Me I was Wrong, which details a wide variety of related issues including property rights, radical environmentalism, public education and personal privacy issues. In addition, DeWeese has written hundreds of articles that have been published in national and local publications reaching millions of readers.Today he serves as Founder and President of the American Policy Center and its sister organization, the American Policy Foundation (501c3). For 50 years Tom DeWeese has been a businessman, grassroots activist, writer and publisher. As such, he has always advocated a firm belief in man’s need to keep moving forward while protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights.Meet Tom DeWeeseSaturday, September 16, 6:30pmDethlefs Community Center217 Hillcrest Avenue, SpicerThanks to a generous patron donation, the Kandiyohi County Republicans are hosting Tom DeWeese at the Spicer Community Center. [emphasis added]/ Tom will teach what he has learned about our evolving government from a local, national, and international perspective. Please join us for a night of learning and fellowship. You are not going to want to miss this! And since this is information we are sure you will want to share with other patriots, bring them with you!
There is a suggested $10 donation at the door.
Bluestem will continue to keep an eye open for local Minnesota Republican BPOUs hosting extremists and conspiracy theorists. And we'll check the Kandiyohi County Republicans reports to the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board to see if that "generous patron donation" shows up in a report. We may have to wait for the year-end-report due on January 31, 2024, but so go deadlines.
