It seems like only yesterday (actually Monday) that Bluestem republished the South Dakota News Watch article, Former small-town Minnesota mayor Rick Weible is behind the rise of electoral activism in South Dakota. He's just getting started. in which included this prognostication:
Rick Weible said he doesn’t plan to run for office because he can make more progress through activism.
That's not the case, as the conservative political blog Dakota War College points out in Rick Weible files to run for House in D8:
Rick Weible, who just had quite the expose written on him by SD News Watch, has apparently filed paperwork with his nemesis the South Dakota Secretary of State to run for District 8 House of Representatives.
Since South Dakota legislators are governed by term limits, this will be an open seat, since Representative John Mills is serving his fourth and thus final term. All three members from District 8 serving in the South Dakota Legislature are Republican (with the exception of two districts--26 and 28--representatives are elected at large within districts, as is the process for state senators).
Here's the paperwork creating his campaign committee, required by the South Dakota Secretary of State:

This won't be the first time the name "Weible" has appeared on the ballot in South DAkota.
Weible was on the 2022 primary ballot in Brookings County for Precinct 16 Precinct Committeeman (he won). This is a party office that's elected in primaries under South Dakota statute:
The person receiving the highest number of votes of his or her party, shall be declared elected precinct committeeman and committeewoman respectively, of their party, and shall hold such position for two years, or until his or her successor is elected unless otherwise provided by the party's Constitution or bylaws.
His wife Gretchen was on the primary ballot for County Commissioner at Large. but came in fourth out of five candidates in the general election (page 87).
As my late father would have said: a pair to draw to.
