Bluestem recently republished a South Dakota Searchlight article, Madison, South Dakota, finally connects to Lewis & Clark Rural Water System.
I've been following the progress of the Lewis and Clark Rural Water project since Tim Walz's first term in Congress.
Dusty Johnson was there at the dedication last week, posting a fascinating image:
For nearly 35 years, the city of Madison has waited as they worked diligently to connect to the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System. We celebrated the completion of that connection for the new supply of water to the city. pic.twitter.com/PZW8O9P9T3

Note the signage in the left hand edge of the photo--for President Joe Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
On South Dakota social media, scamps' attention was drawn to that image and those from our U.S. Senators. The South Dakota Department of Propaganda summed it up:

@SoDakTruth and @BriggsWarrenSF weren't the only ones calling attention to this hubris.
Bluestem received a press release from his Democratic opponent Sheryl Johnson via email:
CONGRESSMAN VOTES AGAINST FUND
ING WATER CONNECTION BUT TAKES CREDIT Sioux Falls, SD–South Dakota celebrated a big infrastructure win and great news for Madison this month as the city finalized its connection to the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System.
But while SD Congressman and career politician Dusty Johnson posed proudly at the ribbon-cutting which marked the event, what he didn’t mention was his vote against the very funding that made this long-overdue infrastructu
re milestone a reality. While Dusty Johnson smiles for the cameras and takes credit for infrastructure projects, his voting record paints a different picture—especially his vote against the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a lifeline for states like South Dakota that has provided critical funding to increase capacity and at long last connect Madison to the Lewis & Clark pipeline.
“It’s double-talk, plain and simple,” said Congressional candidate Sheryl Johnson. “Dusty wants to take credit for projects he’s tried to block funding for, all while pushing policies that favor billionaires and his big-money donors over the needs of regular South Dakotans. South Dakota deserves better.”
South Dakota’s rural communities, farmers, and ranchers rely on infrastructure investments to thrive. Yet Dusty Johnson’s regular opposition to federal funding leaves these vital projects in jeopardy. The people of South Dakota deserve a representative who will fight for our needs, not just show up for the photo-ops.
“It’s time for leadership that will truly put South Dakota first,” added Sheryl Johnson. “We need a representative who will work every day to secure the investments that our communities need to thrive. I will fight for all of us in D.C.”
It's a point well taken. Perhaps he's been too busy denying trying to help Bayer shield itself from existing Roundup cancer lawsuits to remember his votes.
