Bluestem Prairie last covered former New Republican state representative Tim Miller in MNHouse Republicans falsely claim schools are providing litter boxes for kids identifying as cats and Retiring state rep Miller to push unconstitutional local ordinances for new PLAM Action job.
He's back in the news, with a career and lifestyle change. Willmar Radio report in Tim Miller, family decide to live in their RV:
Former state lawmaker and pro-life activist Tim Miller no longer calls Prinsburg his home. Miller, 58, says he and his wife Cherie have made the decision to sell their house and live in a fifth-wheel recreational vehicle. Miller says they first became interested in the RV lifestyle in 2020 and bought a Class C Motorhome in St. Cloud. He says in August they traded it in for the fifth-wheeler...
Miller recently left his job at PLAM Action and is studying to become an RV technician . . .
Is it a remake of Albert Brooks' classic 1985 road comedy, Lost in America? Apparently not, as his wife, a highly respected nursing instructor at Ridgewater College, is keeping her job:
...Miller says they are still working out where they will live in the winter, and where they will park their RV locally while Cherie continues to work at Ridgewater College. He says he's glad to be out of the legislature, and says his stress level is much lower. Miller says people get too worked up over politics...
This certainly is a career shift for Miller. From Tim Miller for MN House HD17A (2014):
My professional career has taken me to many places with a whole lot of experiences. However, fundamentally, I have spent the majority of my adult life as an independent business owner. I owned a paint contractor business for over ten years called Signature Painting. I transitioned from that into a profession I love – non-profit and business development. I have served many non-profit organizations including: the University of Minnesota; Central Minnesota Christian School, Prinsburg; multiple crisis pregnancy centers, and other community driven charities. I have also worked closely on projects with for profit companies including Willmar Poultry, Minnwest Technology Campus, and Feedlogic. My experience includes work in agriculture, renewable energy, housing advocacy, and education. I have a keen understanding of strategic planning and capital fund raising. I understand how businesses succeed and what their challenges are. I intend to use my professional experience in St. Paul for the benefit of West-central Minnesota.
Bluestem is happy Mr. Miller continues to grow as a person. Just as he left the Republican Minnesota House Caucus to form the now-defunct New Republican Caucus, this guy is capable of change.
