During the March 2023 Minnesota state senate floor debate on the bill to provide free school lunches to all public school children, Steve Drazkowski, R-Mazeppa, famously said he'd never met a hungry person in Minnesota:
Minnesota Republican state Sen. Steve Drazkowski on bill providing free school breakfast and lunch: "I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry. Yet today. I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that says they don't have access to enough food to eat." #mnleg pic.twitter.com/H7JsyfsGWw

That wit and wisdom earned him national attention, garnering him headlines like Vanity Fair's Uniquely Evil Minnesota Republican Steve Drazkowski Votes Against Free School Lunches Because “Hunger Is a Relative Term."
The comments are proving to have a remarkable shelf life.
On Sunday's Last Week Tonight With John Oliver on HBO, Draz enjoyed a cameo appearance on September 8, 2024: School Lunch Programs.
For those of us ho don't have an HBO subscription, the episode is now available on YouTube, as the show's X account posted on Thursday:
Here’s last Sunday’s story about school lunch, why it benefits all of us to give kids free meals and, of course, Fingerlings. Y’know, little creatures for your fingers? You’ll see. https://t.co/hie6w50VX2
