Bluestem Prairie is an independent blog published by Sally Sorensen, a writer and researcher living in rural Ortonville, MN. The blog relies on contributions in order keep publishing--and attribution to bring readers to this site.

Indeed, in line with Associated Press guidelines and best media practices, we request that reporters and editors using our material  attribute to Bluestem Prairie original published work drawn from public records, document research, original interviews and other primary sources. We also request that the media attribute our synthesis and analysis that draws from multiple sources. Credit our work.

If a post is news drawn from another single source, such as a blog, online publication, newspaper, or other source, please cite that original source. Hat-tips are great, but not required.

Occasionally, we publish guest posts by other writers. Most of these are crossposted from other blogs; a few are solicited. All are about rural Minnesota culture, politics and policy.  Bluestem Prairie is absolutely not remotely interested in mindless, generic content that has nothing to our very narrow publishing niche. If you have a idea for a single, specific post about rural Minnesota, send the copy. We are not interested in racist, sexist, ageist homophobic, and xenophobic posts or posts that slam a faith or faiths.
